Hmong Farm had this beautiful Yu Choy - like bok choy but sweeter. Add it to soups or sautee it in oil and garlic (flowers and all!)

September 7, 2010 - Week 12

Pumpkins aren't just for carving jack-o-lanterns. Pumpkin pies are delish especially use these fresh pumpkins from Dragonfly Farms. Tip for roasting pumpkins: Put whole pumpkin in heated oven for 15 minutes to soften a bit to make cutting and gutting easier.

This little bunny was found hopping around the common. It just so happened that Nellie Marie Farm and Herb An Chicks Farm brought grown up bunnies to the market this day as well. Just another day filled with teachable moments.

Fall is a favorite time at the market when the days are sunny and cool, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the fall harvest comes in such as a variety of squash, sweet potatoes, and these indian corn decorations.

It poured today but our market friends still came out to shop and got to enjoy some brightness during the grim day from the colorful fall produce and these sunny flowers from Gilson Greenhouses.

October 5, 2010 - Week 16

Another rainy day but these young supporters didn't mind. They dropped in at the Upcycle It! tent to drop off some non-recycables and show off their upcycled purses made from old jeans. Simply adorable! Hope we'll see them at the Upcycle It! Fashion Show on October 19.
