The Westford Farmers Market is dedicated to educating its supporters - both young and seasoned - about topics related to its mission. Programs include:
- Coop Troupe Puppet Theater - green-inspired shows for children (coming in early August)
- Green Living on the Green (formerly Education Tent) - insight, ideas, and tips for living and promoting a sustainable lifestyle
- Community Organization Table - local organizations that promote a variety of topics

- August 9: Coop Troupe Puppet Theater premiere -- "The Barnyard Bard" with healthy eating tips delivered by Shakepearean Chickens

2011 Green Living on the Green Schedule:
- June 21: Barbara Theriault from Westford Recycling Commission will have materials on recycling resources and composting tips. There will be an Earth Machine composter and a recyling toter on display.
- June 27: Erin Taylor from Mass Energy Consumer Alliance will share information about creating renewable energy in Massachusetts through consumer power. Mass Energy is a non-profit advocating and acting in the marketplace on behalf of consumers and the environment. They offer discounted heating oil programs such as New England GreenStart and New England Wind Fund.
- July 5: Clio Fisher from The Real Food Campaign (RFC). RFC is educating and collaborating with consumers, farmers, scientists, retailers (grocery stores, community supported agriculture outlets, farmers markets, food coops, etc.) and policy makers about the need for nutrient dense food. Nutrient Dense food is healthier, more vibrant, tastier and has a longer shelf life. (visit website)
- July 12: The Westford Spinners shares info on spinning natural fibers to produce yarns for textiles. This group of spinning enthusiasts meet twice monthly at the Westford Museum to spin and chat. Stop by and see how the process works. Ella the Angora bunny will be visiting as well, to assist in demonstrating how her own renewable resources are processed. (visit website)
- July 19: Recycled Fiber Arts/Weaving with Penny Lacroix.
- July 26: Invasive Plants with Elana Schreiber.

- September 20: Toxic Use Reduction Institute in Boston. Learn about where to look for toxic chemicals and what alternatives may exist. Simple take home tips on reducing the use of toxics will be on hand as well. Many great resources can be found on our web site at www.turi.org.
