Gooseberry Crisp

Shopping List

  • 2lbs or 4-5 cups fresh gooseberries (See Hill Orchard)
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Make It

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Place gooseberries in baking dish. Sprinkle generously with sugar.
  3. Place flour and butter into a food processor. Process until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  4. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Top berries with crumble mix.
  6. Bake until top is browned and fruit begins to bubble (about 30 minutes).
  7. Let stand a bit before serving.
