Upcycle It!
Turning Trash into Cash for Westford Schools

As part of our mission to provide "green" programs to the community, the Upcycle It! program collects non-recyclables such as drink pouches, Elmer's glue containers, chip bags, granola bar wrappers, coffee bags, and more to keep them out of landfills.

We will collect these items at:

  • Our weekly market (Saturdays, 9:00am to 1:00pm at Eric's Garden Center)
  • J.V. Fletcher Library (by basement elevator)
  • Roudenbush Community Center (Main Street, Westford)
  • Starbucks (174 Littleton Rd., Westford)
  • Schools (collecting from parents)
    • Nabnasset (classrooms & cafeteria)
    • Miller (classrooms & cafeteria)
    • Abbott (classrooms & cafeteria)
  • Schools (internal trash only)
    • Crisafulli
    • Robinson
    • Stony Brook
    • Westford Academy
  • Coldwell Banker (70 Boston Rd., Westford)

They are then sent to Terracycle - a company that shares our sustainable mission - who pays 2 cents for each piece we collect. Sustainable Westford will be donating this money to the Westford Public Schools.

Please help the schools and the planet and reduce trash in landfills by helping us collect these items:

  • Drink Pouches and their straws (Capri Sun, Kool Aid, etc.)
  • Elmer's Glue (bottle, stick, pen)
  • Energy or Granola Bars (all brands). Pop Tart wrappers not included in this category
  • Chip Bags (any chip bag small or large)
  • Cookie Wrappers
  • Candy Wrappers
  • Oral Care Products (toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, denture adhesives tubes, packaging)
  • Writing Instruments (pens, mechanical pencils, markets, highlighters, dry erase markers, Sharpies, Crayola twistables - no wooden pencils)
